Sphera remixes classical furniture materials including wood, brass and upholstery. Utilizing passive joinery, the tapered wooden legs of the un8 Spherae Stool fit snugly into a machined brass disc, creating a cradle for the upholstered sphere that functions as a seating cushion. Each piece consists of four spheres and a single frame. While only a single sphere may rest on the frame at any given time, the other spheres may be substituted in its place or positioned elsewhere in the space, expanding the stool’s reach beyond the footprint of the frame. In this way, it is possible for Spherae to occupy multiple spaces at once.
